Graduating in 2016 with a First Class Honours Degree in Textile Art, Design and Fashion, Mairead is an artist working in textiles and collage.

After working almost exclusively on linen and exploring labour-intensive traditional hand embroidery, Mairead’s recent work has seen her experiment with collage.

Mairead is particularly drawn to the female narrative and the image of women that has perpetuated a notion of their place in society. She uses collage to juxtapose imagery and allow the viewer to interpret an image out of context.
